Combining state-of-the-art psychometrics, data science, and an obsession with candidate experience, we provide the ultimate tool for data-driven talent acquisition. Alva also serves candidates by allowing them to discover what job opportunities are the best matches, given each candidate’s unique background, personality and ability. In fancy words: Alva is becoming a SaaS-enabled talent marketplace, matching companies and candidates.

Joined forces with DevSkills
We are beyond excited about the fact that Alva has recently acquired DevSkills (https://hubs.ly/Q01pjPKQ0), a Stockholm-based coding test creator for evaluating developers' technical competence. This collaborative move will enable our customers to access DevSkills’ coding tests through the platform, strengthening our product offering as a digital recruitment tool. Together with DevSkills, we are committed to prioritizing candidate experience with user-friendly assessments, helping candidates find the job that’s right for them. This brings us one step closer to fulfilling our ambition of becoming an end-to-end solution for recruitment.

The role
To make this happen, we are now looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to take lead on the merge of Alva and DevSkills.

The day-to-day work in Alva’s engineering team is performed in product squads focused on different product surfaces. In your case, this product will be DevSkills (https://devskills.co/)! Each team aims to be self-sufficient and consists of a Product Manager, Designer, and Engineers.

In your day-to-day work, you will:

- Create beautiful web surfaces using technologies such as React, TypeScript, CSS and GraphQL.

- Scope, design, and lead technical projects, laying the groundwork for early-stage products to iteratively evolve and scale.

- Ensure our UI components and libraries are reliable, secure, extensible and accessible.

- Improving frontend tech stack to dramatically reduce load times and bundle size.

- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack with an eye toward improving maintainability over the long term.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across the company including engineering, product, data science, and operations.

You
This time around, we are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the team as you will independently drive the frontend work in your squad. Your background isn’t super important to us, as we are more interested in who you are as a person. Ideally, you have several years of experience working with frontend applications and have led technical discovery work in the past. To be a successful candidate, you:

- Have extensive work experience in developing professional hands-on software.

- Are product-focused, driving the design, development, and implementation in order to turn a user's pain points into simple and elegant solutions that are loved.

- Are an expert at building web applications using HTML, CSS, Javascript/Typescript, and at least one JavaScript framework, preferably React.

- Take full ownership of a product or feature from concept to launch.

- Have a deep understanding of usability issues in web applications.
