Audio & Acoustics Engineer

About the position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Audio & Acoustics Engineer for the Above Audio Team. Working here you will join forces with our Industrial Design and UX teams from the early stages of concept explorations. You will handle early evaluations of audio performance with simulations and quick prototypes, mature the chosen solutions together with the Mech and HW design, tune the DSP+ processing to reach the targeted UX, and, finally, secure the performance in production.

In short; you will work together with other cross-functional talents from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and define relevant metrics for the required audio performance for designs
• Design for functional reliability in extreme conditions
• Choose suitable components, technologies, and partners to realize set performance
• Demonstrate performance through prototypes and simulations
• Tune audio DSP SW to fulfill actual targets
• Secure desired performance in a production line
• Minimum M.Sc. in acoustics/electric/physics/signal processing engineering or similar paired with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Acoustic test and measurement skills in systems such as SoundCheck, Audio Precision, Head Acoustics, Matlab
• Audio test experience involving communication and Audio DSP algorithms and tuning
• Development of consumer electronics all the way to market, preferably at a small- or midsized enterprise with offshore manufacturing
• Experience working in cross-functional teams with Mechanics, HW, SW, QA, PM, ID, …
• Experience in full communication signal processing chain, including Filtering, DRC, NR, AEC, BF
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Expected to travel often, sometimes weeks at a time

Bonus if you have:

• Knowledge of Audio Telecommunication Standards
• Experience in Audio Algorithms such as ANC, Blind Source Separation, Dereverberation, and Speaker Protection.
• Experience in Critical Audio Listening in situations such as tuning, recording, and Mixing.
