Engineering Unit Cloud RAN is a new organization that is leading the acceleration and creation of a Cloud-Native Radio Access Network (RAN) product offering, launching new commercial products in 2022. The new engineering unit contains in one organization total life-cycle capability from architecture definition to deployment in customer networks and capability to contribute to open-source communities in ONAP.

What you will do

We are looking for a Technical Coordinator (TC) with the aptitude to take a technical lead in the Application Support Services (AppSS) domain. AppSS is a set of services based on ADP and in-house design, following the Cloud-Native microservice architecture. We provide the applications with FM, PM, CM, Security, Lifecycle Management, and other services. You will be part of the Core Team of the AppSS Program as Lead TC, keeping a top list of technical challenges faced in the Program, and driving them to a positive resolution. You will interact with other TCs and Architects in Cloud RAN, Solution Architects for the AppSS Services, as well as Architects in other organizations, such as ADP. You will ensure that new features based on AppSS Services work as expected end-to-end. You will also interface SPMs to properly manage customer expectations.

You will report to the Head of Application Support Services 3 in Cloud Infra.

You will ensure that we as a company succeed in delivering a Cloud-Native RAN offering to our customers, with specific regards to AppSS:

• Define and prioritize epics based on customer needs, and technical roadmaps
• Make calls on quality of solutions, and whether temporary solutions are acceptable
• Together with development teams and any other key competences, define solutions to critical problems
• Contribute to and drive the industry’s perception of Ericsson’s leadership in Cloud-Native technologies in the context of Cloud RAN solutions
• Take a lead, including hands-on prototyping, in evolving AppSS towards target Cloud-Native architectures

You will bring

• Solid domain competence in areas relating to Cloud architectures, orchestration, network automation, network element life-cycle management and orchestration
• Experience as a developer in Cloud environments, with languages and technologies such as Golang, Java, Python, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and emerging technologies
• Deep insights in legacy as well as modern software architectures, systemization and technology trends
• A challenger attitude in combination with a genuine understanding of software R&D throughout all development phases
• Ability to conceptualize and present complex technical topics to any audience
• Result-orientated outstanding teammate with a genuine interest in people and the ability to work across organizational boundaries
• Willingness to continuously develop leadership and coaching skills in line with Ericsson core values
• Have a large degree of flexibility and willingness to change and to tackle different tasks
• A natural communicator in both written and orally
• Technical education to university level in a relevant field
• Excellent communication skills – Can communication effectively to management, peers and teams
• Excellent co-ordination ability - Spanning across AppSS Teams (10+ Teams) and countries
• Streamline process for efficiency, ability to redefine/remove process enable people to use their time more effectively
