About the Identity & Privacy Team
The team's mission is to ensure that our customers can access our service simply and securely, we focus on providing solutions for customer authentication/account management and making sure Storytel is compliant with regulatory requirements. Our daily challenges involve simplifying and securing the authentication flows and customer data. As a fully backend team, we provide APIs and services used by the teams building customer-facing features at Storytel.

Some examples of the technologies are using: We host our services in Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform using a variety of languages, including Java and Kotlin.

We are currently working on adapting an identity solution in combination with a more refined microservice architecture to reach truly scalable performance and handle upcoming challenges. As a backend developer in our team, you will actively refine new features, plan architecture, and investigate system behaviors. We are a small team that works very closely together - we discuss solutions and draw flows, and architecture together, which we value and expect from all team members. About the Role
This is a Backend developer role in which you will work with cutting-edge technologies alongside experienced colleagues. Our team builds and maintains the authentication and privacy services that ensure our customers can access so many great stories on our platform and that their data is protected.

At Storytel, engineers are viewed as leaders within the Individual Contributor roles, aiming to create impact and drive initiatives to bring our audio entertainment service to millions of users.

To be successful in this role, we believe that you have

- 2-5 years of experience coding in a typed language - like Java or Kotlin.
- Experience working with cloud services and are familiar with their concepts - Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS, or similar
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Enjoy working collaboratively and believe in team excellence.

And for some bonus points:

- Experience and interest in working with authentication and security
