As a Software Engineer, you will take on many responsibilities in Truecaller’s backend development and maintenance, serving over 290 million active users. You will also be coding new features and have an active role in defining the backend architecture. We are looking for an ambitious developer who has a passion for technology and a great will to learn and grow with us.

What do we expect from you

• Hands-on experience in the development and maintenance of high-load services
• 4+ years of Java experience
• Good understanding of key JVM concepts
• Being a team player and having a positive attitude toward collective code ownership, code reviews, retros, etc.
• Good communication skills

What will you work on

• Backend feature development with a high degree of ownership, including implementation design, corresponding unit test, and metrics coverage
• Active participation in other parts of the development lifecycle, such as feature grooming, code reviews, backend service maintenance (deployments, troubleshooting)
• Developing high-volume, low-latency applications and coping with the challenges of working in a distributed environment.
• Designing microservices and exploring new solutions and technologies together with the platform team.
• Build a scalable and reliable system

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working with other functional programming languages (Haskell, Erlang, Clojure, etc.
• Experience working with non-relational databases
• Experience working with other mobile developers
