Developer Experience Engineer

We’re looking for a Developer Experience Engineer to join our developer for developers team, Developer Experience (DX). Our purpose is to make sure that working at Volvo On Demand as an engineer is safe but also fun and productive.

Together with the rest of the team you will support our engineers with having the right environment, processes, and tools in place to be able to be as efficient as possible in their day to day work. You will also help improve our general technical platform by doing research on what's needed and finding creative solutions.

At Volvo On Demand, you will work with modern technologies to help more people to move freely, meaningfully and sustainably.

Your engagement here will include but won't be limited to:

• Together with the team, you get to influence, coach and educate our engineers in building reliable and scalable software systems. You will also be responsible for developing security, performance and supporting Volvo On Demand’s infrastructure.
• This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth.

You show experience with most of the following...

• Comfortable communicating SRE/DevOps concepts to other teams.
• Programming experience with a script language such as: Bash, Python or Kotlin
• Good understanding of distributed systems at scale
• Experience with platforms such as: Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• CI/CD pipelines

Extra awesome if you have experience with:

• Architecture in Google Cloud
• Programming experience in an object-oriented language, we use Kotlin
• An interest in security topics and the ability to teach best practices
• Enjoy exploring new technologies
• Previous work in a Developer Experience focused team
