The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Java developer to join us in Stockholm, and as a key member of our multi-functional and agile team, you will engage in building phenomenal services for our top brand clients.

In this role, you know how to resolve complex issues and have a comprehensive outlook on services and systems. You will get involved in a set of cross-office initiatives in Europe, so you are comfortable ending up in meetings with people of different roles from various countries and backgrounds, and communication to tackle sophisticated problems is natural for you. You really want to make a difference!

The Team

We believe in team ownership of services and features, all the way from idea to production, and you will be working within our Back Office development team that consists of employees in Stockholm and a team of contractors in India.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include

  • Working hands-on as a software engineer in an agile environment with several programming languages and operating systems.
  • Maintain and further develop a set of micro-services, developed in the latest Java versions, related to the back office area.
  • Facilitate across teams and help foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.

  • You have demonstrated working experience with software engineering, preferably in the FinTech sector.

Skills we can't without

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • You have experience in microservices, java, Atlassian tools, build and test automation, and virtualization.
  • You have a good understanding of software engineering principles with experience in Scrum or other agile development methods.
  • You are an expert user of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience in relational and non-relational databases.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with others using the English language.
  • You have proven experience in writing robust, maintainable code, and the understanding of how to test, architect, and work with distributed high-frequency services.

Skills we would like

  • Previous experience in Cassandra and/or DB2 and general usage.
  • Experience with any of the major cloud providers, especially Google Cloud.
  • The knowledge of event streaming like Kafka and Pub/Sub.
  • Previous experience working with outsourced developers.
