All about the role:

The Jr Artificial Intelligence Engineer is responsible, as member of cross functional Teams, for identify, design, and develop Artificial Intelligence algorithms (including – but not limited to – machine learning algorithms) for Manufacturing Solutions for the European factories, with special focus on the ones related to Production and Quality. The person that covers this role works in close collaboration with the Cloud Specialist and many Teams involved in Cloud and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

What you'll do:

• Actively analyse (including economical evaluation) and propose artificial intelligence solutions design opportunities

• Build MLOps pipelines to support experimentation, continuous integration, deployment (CI/CD), verification, validation, and monitoring of ML models in production to solve a defined problem.

• Model re-training, performance evaluation and score optimization for existing AI/ML models so that they are scalable.

• Integrate and prepare large, varied datasets, using specialized databases and computing environment.

• Turn data into critical information or knowledge that can be used to make sound organizational decisions.

• Define and build technical/data documentation and experience with code version control system (e.g., git).

• Work in close cooperation with the Cloud Specialist to define the most appropriate architecture in the Cloud to train the machine learning models

• Ensure effective communication with global departments and suppliers located globally and secure the adoption of the Group standards related to Artificial Intelligence and the compliance to the new strategic initiatives/projects

• Establish and maintain a standard set of practices, processes, and templates for managing the machine learning models and share lessons learned and best practices across factories, building relationships with stakeholders

• Participate in concept development activities and reduce complexity

Qualifications:

· Kindness and respect.

· University Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Sciences or equivalent by experience.

· Proven experience in Machine Learning.

· Ability to write robust code in Python, R

· Good knowledge of the state of the art of Artificial Intelligence applied to Manufacturing Processes.

· Understanding of principles of IT infrastructure configuration.

· Ability in understanding manufacturing business processes.

· Good attitude in inter-personal relations.

· Problem Solver.

· Innovative and with a genuine interest in technology and a pragmatic approach to delivery.

· Great communication, coaching and collaborations skills within a multi-cultural environment.

· Able and willing to travel as required

Experience with and competencies in the following areas will be considered an advantage:

· Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, architecture, and module.

· Practical knowledge of T-SQL.

· Programming in C #

· Practical knowledge of Unix-like operative systems.

· Knowledge of Factory Automation Systems (HMI/SCADA , OPC-UA protocol, PLC connections...).

· Practical experience in manufacturing factories on the shop floor.
