Senior Software Engineer - Mainframe

The team is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.

THE DELIVERY

We are one of four product teams developing and maintaining the core application within the product development at Volvo (KOLA) the heart of Volvo product documentation. We are bit by bit transforming our monolith solution to a modern cloud native microservice architecture. It s a big advantage if you have some experience from Java development as well so that you can contribute both to the existing solution and in the modernization work.

We apply SAFe framework, with 2-week sprints. YOUR ASSIGNMENTYou will, together with your team, develop or enhance functionality as well as maintain the existing solution. If you are skilled in Cobol as well as Java, there is a golden opportunity to work on both back end and front end development. Comments on Experience & Skills:

You have a passion for coding, always eager to develop your skills and contribute to the team development. As the team is cross functional it s essential that you are willing to stretch yourself outside of your main skill at times to contribute to the team delivery.

WE THINK YOU HAVE - Strong communication and collaboration skills- Solid experience from similar tasks, and you are self-motivated- Deep knowledge in Mainframe & Cobol- DB2 knowledge- Analytical skills- Integration experience, using MQ- Knowledge about security standards- Hands-on experience from working in an agile team with excellent knowledge in Agile methodologies and ceremoniesAnd that you are fluent in English (both speaking and writing), and preferably Swedish as well.

NICE TO HAVE - Experience from working with Java development (full stack)- Knowledge in asynchronous programming, microservice architecture, cloud services and test automation frameworks- Business Analytical skills and experience
