The company
If one should summarize what we as a company are doing, it could be something like this:

Alva Labs is a Stockholm-based SaaS company that offers a solution to help global companies grow their team in a scientific way. Combining state-of-the-art psychometrics, data science, and an obsession with candidate experience, we provide the ultimate tool for data-driven talent acquisition. Alva also serves candidates by allowing them to discover what job opportunities are the best matches, given each candidate’s unique background, personality and ability. In fancy words: Alva is becoming a SaaS-enabled talent marketplace, matching companies and candidates.

We have been growing 1.5-3x per year (in terms of people, revenue, users, and customers) and are in the exciting phase to launch our product in new markets. The core of everything we do is our product. We have come a long way and have happy users - both candidates and customers - but we are only getting started. It is now time to take the next big steps in becoming what we want to become; the product that can be the game-changer in company building around the world.

The role
Working as a Business Analyst at Alva Labs will require you to wrap your head around some exciting tasks, loads of data… and have a lot of fun while doing so. You will be essential in specifying and prioritizing KPIs across the company; from sales and marketing to financial metrics, and collaborate with passionate colleagues from all teams.

Not only will you lead the way in defining the data - you will play an instrumental role in making sure it is available to the relevant people in a convenient way. Analytics at Alva is not a new thing. It has been a core function since the early days, and we are getting ready to transform it into the performance enabler it should be. We do conscious efforts to be more data-centric and have as a target for next year that everyone in our company should have access to, and understand, the data they need.

Daily work will include, but is not limited to:

- Analyze and make sense of our data.

- Proactively identify gaps in the data.

- Support others in making informed decisions.

- Support in financial planning and forecasting. Get an overview of the company and together with the Head of Finance identify how we can improve.

- Own the visualization tool and make sure that what we need is there, that it’s up to date and that it works as intended.

- Be part of the cross-department RevOps squad to gather input and align on how to work with data at Alva.

About you
We obviously believe in finding the right person, rather than the right CV. That said, we need you to be confident enough to lead the data analysis work and to work independently. Here are some things that would make us really happy;

- Some experience from working as a data/business analyst, data scientist, programmer, or similar adjacent role.

- Solid expertise in SQL. Python is a bonus, but not a requirement.

- Self-going and result-oriented with a high sense of urgency.

- Excellent communication skills. - We are proud to have a diverse team at Alva and given our continued expansion plans, written and verbal fluency in English is a must. For this position, Swedish is not a requirement.

What’s our stack?
- We host our product on Google Cloud Platform and use a plethora of their different products. Most relevant from an analytics perspective is that we use BigQuery (https://cloud.google.com/bigquery) as our data warehouse.

- Data is then transferred and unified with Weld (https://weld.app/), an end-to-end data operations platform, built on top of the data warehouse. All data operations - from ingestion to modeling, to activation - happen from within the Weld app. Finally, we use Metabase (https://www.metabase.com/) as our visualization tool.

- Slack is at the center of our work. For example, we push our most important usage to metrics to slack every day for the company to keep up to date.

We are currently a team of 70+ people, representing 18 different nationalities and a wide selection of professional backgrounds. You will hang out with psychologists, PhDs, engineers, and designers, and work towards our common mission: to make hiring better.
