This will entail amongst other things setting up architecture, driving development and recruiting the right competencies to grow the SW-team.

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will provide strong technical guidance and lead the Software team in design and development of Moleculent software, including hardware control and analysis SW.

You will be responsible for planning and executing software development projects. This includes identifying and recruiting team members and managing the team towards set objectives

The role is integrating project and people management and it is important to be aware of that initially the role will be more hands-on and less management, but your responsibility will be to grow the team, recruit the right competencies and attract top talent. The team is expected to grow to 5-10 people.

You will interact with cross functionally internally with other teams and externally with customers. .

QUALIFICATIONS
To fit the role, you have a MSc or PhD. Most likely in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or similar. Fluent written and spoken English and excellent communication skills is a requirement.

You have extensive experience of successful SW product development and embedded systems development, preferably within Life Sciences. You have excellent and up-to-date programming skills in at least one of the major languages (Python, Java, C, C++) on Linux, but do not confine yourself to a specific technology stack.

You are skilled in project management of complex SW projects with technical dependencies and are well versed in agile methodology and experienced in running both planning meetings and retrospectives. You are focused on product quality and are no stranger to requirements breakdown, setting up code reviews, and automated testing approaches. Optionally, you are also skilled in DevOps and setting up CI/CD pipelines.

The right candidate for the role combines strong technical leadership with an operative hands-on approach. You are communicative, collaborative and have the tools to create a high-performing and engaged team to drive SW development. You enjoy working in a goal-oriented environment and in projects with cross-functional teams. You have a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and have a sense of urgency and the tools to create and maintain a culture of innovation and excellence.

It is important that you have strong teamwork skills, and an analytical and pragmatic approach. You are friendly, positive, and fun to work with and you enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
