Lead Software Engineer - Android
Lynk & Co is seeking a lead Android engineer for its mobile app platform to serve as the leading force behind technical design and implementation. Joining us means that you'll work with a passionate cross-functional team on a mission to change how we think about mobility, what it means having a car and especially borrowing somebody else's Lynk & Co. You’ll take part in designing features and breaking down high level goals into concrete tasks and timelines.
As an early member you’ll also help set up our team processes and technologies and set the tone for mobile team culture. We’re now in an exciting phase, rewriting our applications to support the next version of our vision. New design, car models, car sharing concepts and membership experiences are on the horizon and it will require excellent mobile apps.
A successful candidate can provide technical leadership within the team and find dynamic solutions to solve highly complex technical and business problems. Your main responsibility is to be an expert in mobile app development for Android. The ideal candidate can also navigate between different domains that our mobile apps interact with such web technologies, backend. This is an excellent opportunity for you with a mobile app development background who wants to work in a highly collaborative environment and be part of producing cutting-edge mobility solutions for the masses.
This is a full-time role that can be held from our hub in Gothenburg, Amsterdam or Barcelona.
What you'll do
- Work with designers, POs, and other developers to bring Lynk & Co services to mobile on Android
- Share responsibility for testing, releasing, and maintaining our mobile apps
- Transform requirements to technical solutions for new feature development
- Work with business & design teams to propose technical feasibility and solutions
- Analyze and identify problems and propose possible solutions to the development team
- Enable development teams of the different parts of the platform to work towards a unified implementation
- Speed up development work by supporting and guiding solutions
- Communicate and document architectural designs and requirements
- Migrating from older application paradigms to some of the newest Android technologies like Kotlin, MVVM-C, LiveData, Architecture Components and Jetpack Compose
- Collaborate with peer organizations across the globe
What you should have
- Extensive experience building Android mobile applications with proficiency in Java and Kotlin
- Extensive understanding of mobile product development
- Tech-Savvy with good understanding of modern digital technologies and platforms
- Customer service oriented with an entrepreneurial approach to challenges
- Extensive experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques
- Proactive communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative environment
