About the team
As part of the Women's Design Team, you will be involved in designing & developing specific products within the Global Womenswear Outerwear & Bottoms Assortment. You will work in close collaboration with the Designer, Product Developer and Pattern Maker and support the Designer in the work tasks to create a strong assortment with GANT's heritage and future as a Modern American Lifestyle brand in mind.
The position of Junior Designer will be reporting to the Design Manager. The role gives you the possibility to work in an exciting and positive environment where you can develop and grow as a designer. A valid EU passport or Swedish work permit is mandatory for this role.
Responsibilities
- Support the Designer in creating products, researching and designing, connected to the GANT brand strategy
- Support and partner with product development and take responsibility to execute each style with correct information to ensure a smooth workflow
- Understand the importance of balance within the collection triangle, from core to brand drivers, distinguish and define the purpose of each product
- Prepare garment worksheets and style overviews for checkpoint presentations and follow up on each style selected for the collection
- Prepare all selected and confirmed styles to be put in PLM, completed on a high standard for sending to suppliers and buying offices to meet deadlines
- Follow the process of the development of all styles, from idea, sketch, all the way to bulk, to ensure the best product
- Assist at sample checks and fit meetings, ensuring that the quality, silhouette and production of each product reaches the aimed standard
- Assist with trim, print, fabric and color approvals
Your skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field is required
- 1-3 years of Womenswear design experience and a good understanding of constructions and materials
- Strong use of drawing in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience in hand sketching, conveying ideas clearly
- Excellent communication skills, organized approach and has the ability to stay focused in the process of multi-seasonal work with a high level of attention to detail
- Good knowledge with Google Workspace, PowerPoint and Excel
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken is a must
