Technical Lead | Polestar Order Management

We are currently looking for a Technical Lead for the Polestar Digital Order Management team. This role will lead an engineering team including senior and junior front and back-end engineers.

Let us describe the challenge we offer

When purchasing a car, our customers are taken through a journey that starts at Polestar.com and provides them with a digital experience all the way through receiving their new Polestar. At the back-end of this journey we have an order management system that is crucial for the company and to the customer experience - a joint heart of the Polestar commerce solutions. We will soon start the quest of building a new order management layer meanwhile our current solution is up and running. We are therefor in need of strengthening our development team responsible for the order management solutions with a strong technical leader.

The responsibility for this position will be to develop the new system with TypeScript in AWS, serverless, but it will also be helpful to understand the current system built in PHP.

What you'll do

In general, the Technical Lead is responsible for the execution of deliverables and roadmap for a digital solution. The Tech Lead is also translating business objectives set by Digital Lead and Digital Product Manager (DPM) into technical deliverables and features, as such, the TL is an executor and the visionary force behind the technical solution. Expectations are high, but most who work here will benefit from an intensive learning experience. Teams are expected to adopt a true tech-first, product-focused approach. For many, the autonomy at Polestar is liberating, challenging and unusual.

As a technical lead, you will coordinate and delegate the team’s responsibilities (requirements, architecture, deliveries, quality, etc.) and work proactively to remove obstacles to team deliverables.

In addition, you will also:

- Highlight resourcing needs to the Digital Lead and Manager (e.g., recruitment)

- Set the digital product’s technical direction in collaboration with Business Architect, Solution Architect, BAs, SMEs and align this with the Digital Lead

- Partner with the Digital Lead in feature creation and acceptance criteria, communicate trade-offs effectively with various competence groups (Architects, UX/UI Designers, Engineers, etc.)

- Support the team with problem-solving, balancing priorities, and clarifying trade-offs, as well as establish/organize the team’s development process, including releases, product demos, end-user training and workshops

- Deep programming and technology experience with insight into the newest technologies and trends. Key technologies that you would be using in this role include Typescript, AWS, serverless, event-driven microservices.

- Experience in developing critical backend systems with complex integrations points.

- Proved ability to coach and enable high-performing development teams in an agile environment.
