Over the course of the past six years, we’ve grown into a business of over 2000+ Instaboxers united by a single purpose; providing an uncomplicated shipping service - all in order to make everyday life easier. We want to change the industry and not only be a part of the future, but to drive development towards it. It should be easy to shop online, and therefore we offer millions of customers across Europe a hassle-free and fossil-free shipping experience.

We’re fast, both in terms of parcel delivery and when it comes to growing our business. So far our journey has taken us from Sweden to the rest of Scandinavia and parts of continental Europe, but we have no plans on stopping anytime soon.

About the team

The Business Intelligence team consists of 8 team members and has 2 main roles in play, Analytics Engineer and Data Analyst. We have developed a comprehensive way of working for ourselves and our stakeholders and build our solutions on the modern data stack using FiveTran, Python, DBT and Snowflake for data ingestion, storage and modeling with Tableau as our primary data visualization product.

Our team is culturally diverse, representing 6 nations and with an equal gender split, it’s within our DNA to challenge the status quo and deliver better ways of working with data.

What you will be doing

Within the Business Intelligence team, you will get the opportunity to shape how Instabox builds its analytical data layers which serve everyone in our organization and enable us to make better decisions. The data warehouse is a key asset that we use for multiple data processing purposes; while traditional BI is one use case we deploy, we also service data science investigations and create endpoints for our technology teams to use in our products and services.

Why an Analytics Engineer

The intersection of data analysis and engineering has seen the emergence of the Analytics Engineer where data ingestion is a solved problem thanks to SaaS products and easier programmatic integration patterns, and the value focus is on data modeling in SQL and building actionable data models for multiple use cases.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will cover:

- Design and build data models that support business processes, where governance and trust in data are critical

Be an expert in data transformation techniques using SQL and here at Instabox we use DBT to automate this as well as Python

- Work on analytical projects to help answer a hypothesis or solve an idea a stakeholder might have

- Demonstrate an appetite to try new approaches, staying up to date with market trends and advances in data processing

- Be comfortable promoting your work both internally and externally

We think you are a person who...

- Will have experience from a Data Analyst, Data Engineering or Data Scientist role

- A university degree in an analytical field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics)

- Has strong knowledge of SQL and command of analytical functions

- Understands data modeling techniques and their value in delivering end user self-service

- Has good programming skills (Python, Go)

- Is able to use a data visualization and methodical approach to communicate your analytical findings

- Understands the value of modern cloud computing and SaaS tools we have in play at Instabox (FiveTran, Snowflake, DBT, Tableau, Python)
