Jr. Streaming Software Engineer

The Position
Magine Pro is looking for a Jr. Streaming Software Engineer with a background in digital media and OTT platforms. As a Streaming Software Engineer at Magine Pro, you’ll be a part of the Media and Infra core team, that develop and maintain the platform infrastructure redundant, scalable, and secure. The team is also responsible for developing, protecting, and monitoring the Magine Pro streaming platform, and media pipeline.

In our media-pipeline we manage both live and video on demand streams with the goal of ensuring the highest quality for our partners. We engineer and build software to manage the pipeline and automating ingestion.

Your daily impact on Magine Pro

- Become a part of the core team that maintains, extends and improves our media-pipeline based on state of the art technology.

- Collaborate with a highly skilled and passionate team of multi-national engineers to build and operate our streaming platform.

Must haves:

- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.

- Experience in development and support of production systems used in a 24x7 operations environment.

- Experience with programming in Python or Go.

Nice to haves (or what you will learn):

- The right person will possess significant hands-on implementation and demonstrate a strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

- Excellent understanding of operating system / Linux fundamentals.

Experience working with AWS Cloudformation templates written in YAML + sh/bash.

- Experience working with AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Media Convert, Media Package, MediaTailor, Cloud Formation, and Cloud Watch.

- Experience working with end-user developer communities.

- Experience with digital rights management and Hollywood grade DRM systems, i.e. Playready, Widevine and Fairplay.

- Experience in working with networking protocols (such as TCP, TLS, HTTP/2).

- Experience with video and audio encoding (H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC...) or streaming (HLS, MPEG-DASH...) technologies.

- Experience working with content encoding and transcoding.

- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex systems using test tools, network management systems and error reporting systems.

- Experience in analysing and improving efficiency, scalability, stability, reliability, and performance of CDN infrastructure.
