Test Engineer with experience within CAB Vehicle Software - IO Asia

Scania has decided to establish a third industrial hub in China. Alongside building a new factory and an expansion of the sales network we will also establish a local R&D organization in China. Our mission in R&D Industrial Operations Asia is to develop trucks specially adapted for the Chinese market, the biggest commercial vehicle market in the world.

The work will be carried out by a dedicated organisation that consists of colleagues from all brands within the TRATON Group together with many new colleagues from China. We are building the organisation simultaneously as we are driving the project and are now looking for several software test engineers to help us secure quality in our software deliveries.

Your team and work assignments
You will be part of our Cab team where you will cover a wide range of system testing related activities, from setting up  test benches to validating your system on a test vehicle, from writing test plans to test execution.

However, we are not only looking for test executers. Your findings will immediately be feedbacked to the embedded system designer and implemented in the product design. Your playground will include CAB real-time embedded systems handling for example the HVAC system, door control system or light control. 

Your profile
You are comfortable working in an organisation under build-up, where not everything is in place. You have a curious mindset and are a problem solver that likes to get to the root of the problem. Experience with embedded systems is important. You enjoy working in an international environment and since you will have many international colleagues it is important that you feel comfortable in both written and spoken English. In addition to that, you recognize yourself in the following: 

• You have at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
• Knowledge on automotive electronic systems 
• Knowledge of the EE architecture, CAN and UDS protocol
• At least a few years of testing experience (Function and system testing)
• Familiar with tools like Canalyzer and Canoe
• Experience with writing and executing test cases from requirements for embedded systems 
• You should find it interesting to build and improve our software quality assurance

Meritorious is

• Experience with different types of testing e.g Integration testing, SIL, HIL
• Experience in setting up testing in CI/CD pipelines
• Good knowledge of C++ or Python
• Ability to automate testing systems 
• Different programming languages for test frameworks

Location
Today our offices are located in Södertälje. During 2023, we will start to relocate to China and the new offices in Shanghai. Depending on your role and situation, there could be possibilities for both long-term and short-term assignments. However, relocation to China is not required for this position.
