Experienced Front-end Developer

We need your help with improving the tools and services used by our colleagues working with development of AXIS OS by making sure we deliver the best developer experience possible. The position is in Lund at our new HQ.

Who is your future team?
We are 26 developers that are passionate about improving the tools and services that are used to develop AXIS OS. Providing a build, integration, and release pipeline to all AXIS OS developers at Axis is our main responsibility. We're organized in small autonomous teams, each responsible for their part in the pipeline. The tool chain at Axis is well established and handles daily releases of over 100 different products. Python, Go and TypeScript are the main programming languages we use, but it is more about using what's best for the task. We believe in automating repetitive tasks and love to take full responsibility for everything we do. It is our job to make sure that Axis continuously can add value and new features to the cyber secure AXIS OS we deliver to our customers. We are great at what we do, but at the same time know that we can always improve and learn more. What really stands out for the team is our eagerness to help and support each other and our fellow Axis co-workers.

What you'll do here as Front-end developer?
To provide a good developer experience to AXIS OS developers it is essential that our tools and services share a coherent and cohesive user interface and experience. You will get many opportunities to interact with end-users, to understand what they need and what we can do for them so they can focus on developing new features for AXIS OS. You will be part of a newly formed team within R&D Tools that focus on developer experience. As a member of the team, it is very much up to who you are and what you want to focus on, but to name a few things you can expect to:

Improve frontend coherency between our tools and service

Support the different teams within R&D Tools with frontend implementation
*

Establishing best practices (and tools) within R&D Tools
*

Work in close cooperation with AXIS OS developers to understand their needs
*

Share knowledge and experiences with other frontend focused teams within Axis

We'd love to hear that you have/are:

Strong programming skills in JavaScript and/or TypeScript

Experience with React
*

Linux experience

The following qualifications are a plus:

Backend development experiences

Familiarity with CI/CD

Good eye for UX and design
