UI Designer

Do you like the idea of working with products that help citizens as well as police, schools and hospitals in critical situations? Axis equipment and software services are used for real-time support during incidents and for forensic search when something has already happened. Our R&D-site in Linköping is growing at a fast pace and we're looking for a UI designer with UX experience that can contribute to a smarter, safer World.

Who is your future team?

At Axis in Linköping we work in DevOps teams where all team members share and collaborate on all the tasks of a software development. We have the benefits of working in a small, growing Linköping office, together with the advantages of the large company's strengths. You will be part of two or three teams, working closely with developers, UX-designers, QA-engineers and Product Management. You will also be part of Axis UX Assembly with three colleagues in the Linköping office.

What is it like to work as a UI Designer in Linköping?

In Linköping, Software development is our core business. As UI designer you will be a key player in the design of our software products. Together with UX research/design, product managers, development team, product specialists you create the user experience of our products. Supporting this process, there is a newly established design system where you will add UI components as they are needed.

The responsibilities of the role include:

* Creating prototypes of UI features to ensure a high-quality user flow in our products
* Working closely with architects and product managers you will create UI designs
* Working closely with development team to refine and implement UI design solutions
* Maintaining the design system together with the UI community

Who are we looking for/Who are you?

We are looking for a passionate UI designer who wants to work in a cross-functional team to create solutions that make things easier and better for our end users.

You must have:

* At least three years of practical UI design experience in technical web-related projects
* Experience from working in an R&D environment
* Previous experience in design tools such as Figma, Framer, Adobe XD, Zeplin etc
* A genuine curiosity when it comes to people and behaviors

It is an advantage if you have at least one of the below:

* UX Design - facilitating design thinking and sprints, user journeys and impact mapping
* Experience of scalability (large systems) and mobile, responsive interfaces
* Curiosity of new design tools and methods

We believe that you can use your toolbox of UX methodologies to understand the users, their needs, problems, and behaviors. You communicate your findings through a range of UX and UI deliverables. Anything from test-reports and flowcharts to wire frames and prototypes which in the end sums up in a high-fidelity design that can be realized into a first-class experience.
