Do you want help us to promote a healthy planet for future generations? Yara Marine Technologies AB are now looking for an Automation & Software Engineer who will strengthen their Business Line Wind Propulsion team and help develop their revolutionized WindWings system.

Today, Yara Marine offers a portfolio of green technologies, such as SOx scrubbers, fuel optimization systems, turnkey shore power solutions, and the cutting-edge, advanced wind-assisted propulsion system WindWings.

Together with BAR Technologies Yara Marine Technologies have developed an advanced wind-assisted propulsion and route optimization system, that can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 30%. The WindWings will be launched during the summer, and you will be a key player to make sure the release is a success.

You will

The team consists of 4 people, and you will have a close cooperation with the team members in all the project phases and day-to-day work. As an Automation & Software Engineer, you will develop the PLC and HMI software for the Business Line Wind Propulsion. In addition to developing code and functions, you will also test functions of the Windwings and act as back-office support for engineers on site.

Main resposibilities in this role will be:

- Develop software for PLC and HMI
- Test and verify software
- Support engineers on site during commissioning
- Work together with hydraulic- and electrical engineers to develop and test new solutions and WindWings variants

The work is based in the office in Gothenburg but travel to site for commissioning’s will be needed.

You are

To be successful in this role, you have experience from working in Beckhoff TwinCAT3. You have gained a few years of experience of PLC/HMI programming and have a good understanding of how electronics, hydraulics and mechanics work together. Furthermore, you have excellent English skills, both verbal and written.

Meritorious is to have previous experience of:

- Git, UnitTest, JavaScript, restAPI, Docker, Linux or Databases

Personal qualities

To thrive in this position, you have good communication skills since a part of the job is to have contact with both suppliers and customers. You have the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Furthermore, you appreciate working in an international environment where you meet and work with people from different cultures and have an open mindset for new situations and ways of working.
