Job duties as Senior Developer

The team delivery consists of developing, running and monitoring new pricing solutions for our large clients. Team members consist of Full stack developers, data scientists, product owner and scrum master and as a Senior Developer you complement the team with a strong software engineering background.

As a Senior Developer at PostNord, your duties can be divided in two categories. Primarily, as Senior Developer you are a main contributor of software craftsmanship practices to enable efficient, secure, and compliant implementation and running of our various forecasts. You as Senior Developer perform hands-on coding and mentor and lead your peers in development processes and code standards.

Secondly, as Senior Developer you collaborate and interact with the existing development team as well as stakeholders, architects, and line managers to design and define the competencies, processes, models and technology needed to meet business requirements and architectural strategy.

As Senior Developer you are part of The Advanced Analytics & Automation section, that is responsible for establishing the future IT landscape that will be the foundation for our data driven journey.

We are looking for you who have

To fit in the Senior Developer role you have been working with software development on an advanced level for several years. It is important that you like to remain hands on and enjoy working on complex and challenging solutions.

As a person you are curious to learn and evolve your skill set in accordance with the state-of-the-art pace in the domain that you work in. You have realised that modern software production resembles industrial production in the sense that it requires a scalable approach to QA and deployment, and you are also humble for the fact that creating and maintaining great solutions at scale is a team effort and not an initiative of a few superheroes.

Requirements as Senior Developer

* Strong understanding of web technologies, including front-end and back-end programming
* Designing database schemas, APIs, and using industry standard tooling such as git and Infrastructure as Code.
* Knowledge about software development best practices to ensure long term quality of the codebase, (ex: test driven development, domain driven design, 12 factor app principles, SOLID principles)
* Strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions.
* Identifying and addressing security concerns, debugging code and optimizing performance.
* Cloud literacy (PostNord´s data platform is developed in Azure)
* Experience of Java, .NET or other object oriented language
* Communicates in English both written and speech

Meritorious as Senior Developer

* Experience developing in Java and Spring framework
* Experience with React frontend development
* Prior experience with the logistics industry and/or dynamic pricing
* Experience developing microservice architecture
* Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
* Interest in MLOps and enterprise scale software engineering
* Competence to perform visualization of model output (Power BI is our default choice)
* Python skills
