Platform Architect

Introduction:

We are excited to announce an opening for a Platform Architect focusing on the predictive maintenance and maintenance optimization of the Volvo Group vehicles. This critical role will involve working closely with data analysis teams and designing and implementing systems. As a key member of our leadership team, you will have the opportunity to lead projects for the Volvo Group connected vehicles. Your expertise in DevOps, cloud technologies, and web development will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects and ensuring our solutions are both innovative and efficient.

Position Overview:

As a Platform Architect, you will design and implement systems that leverage statistical models, cloud infrastructure, and lean development practices. You will collaborate with data analysis teams to develop solutions for predictive maintenance, broadcasting equipment monitoring, and other cutting-edge applications. Your experience with AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms and proficiency in various programming languages will enable you to create robust and scalable solutions for the Volvo Group customers. Effective communication and leadership skills will guide your team and optimize development processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable cloud architectures on the Azure platform.
• Lead the creation of data pipeline environments for processing and analytics, including hands-on development.
• Develop and implement distributed internet technology applications on both cloud and dedicated hardware.
• Work closely with teams across the organization to establish best practices and facilitate DevOps.
• Manage and lead engineering teams while maintaining an agile, test-driven approach.
• Implement data collection, processing, and analysis solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in leading roles, such as Architect or Senior Developer in this domain
• Strong background in data products, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
• Knowledge of programming languages; Python.
• Familiarity with networking technologies and protocols
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, PowerBI, and various IDEs.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience in the automotive or marine industry.
• Patent ownership or contribution to patented technologies.
