Backend Engineer - Pricing Team

Volvo Car Mobility is a mobility technology company, providing the smart car-sharing service Volvo On Demand, giving our users flexible access to Volvo cars. Using the power of our proprietary AI-supported mobility platform and modern technologies, we’re part of shaping sustainable cities by reducing the number of cars and enabling more people to move freely, meaningfully, and sustainably.

We’re now looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Pricing Team - Responsible for developing a flexible architecture and price packaging to enable data-informed continuous iteration of our business model.

Your engagement here will include but won't be limited to:

Together with the team, you’ll be responsible for developing data-driven features like dynamic pricing and subscription models, making it easy to understand pricing at Volvo Car Mobility.

You'll work in a cross-functional agile product team creating and delivering the best possible solutions for people and cities. We rely on talent and grit in the challenges in front of us by designing, developing, and deploying highly reliable, available, and scalable APIs for which your team will be responsible. You'll have a lot of space to influence not only what we build, but also how we work. You'll work with passionate people to come up with what's next for our product. Above all, you'll help create space for a more sustainable future through car sharing.

You show experience with most of the following...

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in an agile and fast-paced environment
• Experience working with an object oriented language such as Kotlin or Java (we use Kotlin)
• Experience working with web application frameworks like Spring or Dropwizard (we use Spring Boot)
• You have experience with modern Version Control Systems (we use Git)

Extra awesome if you have...

• Experience working with dynamic pricing, personalization (or other data-driven products)
• Frontend experience and interest (we use React)
• Worked with GraphQL APIs
• Experience with microservices using Google Cloud Platform or similar (AWS, Azure) and worked on Deployment (Kubernetes) and CI
• Some knowledge about relational SQL Databases (we use PostgreSQL)
• Some knowledge about Docker
• Enjoy exploring new technologies and cross-team collaboration work
• Enjoy documenting instructions, tips, and tricks in a pedagogical way
