Our Department, Vehicle Software-R&D within Digital & IT has the responsibility to support all development areas (R&D) withing Volvo Group with digital solutions and applications. Our team is developing Line of Business Applications supporting Embedded Software documentation configuration and release. Our stakeholders are Software engineers developing software used in all products such as trucks, engines, busses, and construction equipment.
We have started to migrate our applications to cloud as Microservices and Micro Frontends as Single Page Applications and will continue our path towards this.
Your role in our team as Solution Architect
You will work together with Delivery Leader/Product Leader evolving our Digital Products supporting engineers at Product Development in the development, release and maintenance of embedded software so that those will meet future needs.
You will ensure that architectures delivered, both logical and physical, are aligned with Volvo Group architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps. You will create and review architecture designs and build a balance between immediate business requirements and long term strategic plans.
- Within the solution development lifecycle, the role will be accountable for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case.
- Provides technical & IT expertise support to project teams and conducts architectural reviews throughout project lifecycle
- Contributes to project and service teams in the development, implementation and maintenance of standard architectural components
Qualifications:
- Proven track record as a software architect or senior developer prior to this in an agile context.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
- Good knowledge of modern software engineering principles and best practices.
- Understanding potentially complex problems and finding possible solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex aspects within area of specialization
- Proven experience in learning new business domains, processes and capabilities.
- Experience in modeling tools (Sparx EA) and modeling languages such as UML , BPM.
- Experience in industry architectural patterns and frameworks
- Knowledge about functionality ( abilities ) in .Net5+ , Node.js
- Experience in Azure cloud platform
- Experience in implementation of Microservice , MicroFrontend using:
- Microservice Architecture, Event-Driven, (Choreography)
- REST
- Domain Driven Design
- RESTful APIs
- Single Page Application
- Experience in Confluence, Azure DevOps with CI/CD development
- Security knowledge
Responsibilities:
- Secure that solution follow Volvo Groups policies (quality, security)
- Analyze Business needs and understanding business domain (Embedded Software)
- Researching and understanding new technologies with focus on solution improvement
- Support the product Owner and teams in aligning the Product Roadmap to the Volvo Group architectural guidelines and roadmaps.
- Collaborating closely with teams, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders in defining the technology, creating a detailed software design of the solution.
- Actively participating in the PI planning events and ceremonies
- Working with cross-functional teams
- Communication, transparency, growth mindset and open for innovation
- Passion for DevOps, way of working, automation, continuous improvements, and a strong sense of team collaboration.
