What are we doing?
The department Infotainment, within Connected Experience product stream, is responsible for the development and enabling of Volvo Cars new Infotainment system powered by Android. Volvo Cars was the first company to team up with Google, developing a system together which re-thinks the nature of car infotainment, defined by a user-friendly interface and an unparalleled connectivity. We work with the latest technologies to reach the future characteristics and requirements in a very exciting field. To ensure adaptability and flexibility we work in an agile environment, and we put quality on top of our priorities.

What do we offer?
We are now looking to strengthen our team with a couple of software developers. Our team has complete ownership of features and collaborates with partners and other teams to deliver high quality products, using the latest tools and technologies. We secure quality with automatic test cases running in our CI environment, where rigs and test cars can also be a part of the set-up to secure the end-to-end experience. You will join a team of highly skilled developers with an established network within the company software and design community. One of the teams has a central role in the system’s HMI design and development, responsible for the component library used by ourselves and our neighboring teams. We cooperate closely with UX/Design, the Product Owner, Scrum Master and tech leads. The positions are based in Lund.

Who are you?
You are a developer with either the flavor of Android framework development with experience in AOSP, Android HAL and AIDL, or with the flavor of Android mobile app developer, enjoying working with UX/UI and components, collaborating with designers and other teams. Quality thinking and taking ownership are parts of your characteristics. You are a true collaborator who enjoys a challenge and feel comfortable handling complexity. You are used to working in cross functional teams where working with Interaction and graphic designers is a part of the day-to-day work.

What you need to bring
* M.Sc in Software Engineering or corresponding relevant experience
* Experience in Java/Kotlin development
* Experience in Android stack and related development and build tools (Android Studio, Gradle and Make)
* Experience in working within AOSP, Android HAL and AIDL
* Experience in close collaboration with UX/Design teams
* Writing automated unit and integration tests as a natural part of design and implementation
* Comfortable working in a Linux environment
* Experience in working with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins tools
* Good communication skills, including in English (written and spoken)

It is meritorious if you have:
·       Experience in creating and maintaining software libraries
·       C++ experience
·       Swedish Driver’s license (B-level)
