We’re now looking for a UX Manager to support our designers to continue to deliver customer value and fabulous user experiences!

Role & Responsibility

Our design team comprises 13 people; a UX Director, a UX Manager, 8 product designers, 2 service design leads, and one visual designer. As the UX manager in Mobility, you will be responsible for 9 designers and report to the UX Director. You’ll also be part of our design leadership team of two service design leads, yourself, and the UX Director. In your role as UX manager, you’re tasked with supporting and coaching our Product designers in our different product teams, and our visual designer. The team members are spread across Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

The manager role includes check-ins and development talks with your employees, participating in salary reviews, managing various personnel errands, handling recruitments, and driving competence development within our team.

Skills & Requirements

This is a junior manager role and we're looking for leaders with a designer background who've worked as a design manager for around 1–3 years. For you to thrive and enjoy your work here, you need to appreciate change, speed, and flexibility!

You are a leader with a strong ability to coach and guide, who inspires change and motivates our designers to shape and explore simple solutions to sophisticated problems. You have a strong foundation in the design process, with broad knowledge of both product discovery and delivery. You act as an advisor in order to improve ways of working and develop the team’s skills and practices.

As UX Manager, you’ll focus on continuously growing our designers and building a strong design culture across the Nordics together with the UX Director. You understand business and strategy, which helps you guide your employees in discussions and thoughts on company priorities and initiatives. You believe that collaboration is the key to success - it’s one of our values and the foundation of having a cross-Nordics design leadership.

You have a background in UX, UI, or another design profession and feel comfortable managing both product designers as well as visual designers. You’re great at planning and structuring your time in an efficient way, you have a high ability to quickly change focus in a high pace environment, and you are a reliable person who follows through on your promises. You see failure as a possibility to learn and gladly share your experiences with the team to build trust.

Skills:

- 1–3 years of experience as a design manager
- At least 5 years of experience in a design profession
- Coaching and leadership skills, both on individual and team level
- Experience from working with data-driven insights
- Fluent in both spoken and written English

Nice to have:

- Knowledge within accessibility
- Experience in managing people in different countries
- DesignOps & tooling

Hi there, I’m Johanna! I started my journey at Schibsted just over 3 years ago at Blocket in Sweden. When I started, my job was to improve user-centric ways of working at Blocket Mobility, making sure that our users and customers are always at the center of every initiative we drive! What drew me to the Mobility vertical of the company was the opportunity to work with two super interesting areas; circular economy and the automotive industry. Now that we have transitioned into working on a Nordic level, it’s even more thrilling to see how we can make an impact within these two areas!

Transportation is a part of everyone’s life, it’s an enabler to connect people with each other and the world around us. The automotive industry is now rapidly changing towards digitization, electrification, and new ownership models. We have so many opportunities to explore, so many needs to understand, and so many people to design awesome services for!
