Data Engineer - Autonomous Transport Solution

The autonomous department in Scania is seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join the AI Technologies group. As a Data Engineer, you play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. This way, you ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of our data pipelines and contribute to developing an awesome end-product.

AI development for autonomous driving is heavily data-centric. Tools and infrastructure for collecting, transferring, organizing, enriching, and processing the data are instrumental for the efficient development of the autonomous driving stack. The group AI Technologies cover the complete task from data selection, annotation, Deep Neural Network (DNN) and other algorithms development to deployment of our DNNs on the target system in our autonomous driving prototype vehicles.

As a part of this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processes to collect, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design optimal data models and schemas.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend improvements to enhance data processing efficiency.

We believe to succeed in this role you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous work experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proficiency in SQL and database design concepts.
• Familiarity with data modeling and ETL principles.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
