We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Automation Engineer to strengthen our team! In this role you will use C# together with PLC-programming to support industrialization of our cameras in mass production, as well as help to further develop the automation platform for our production systems. Does this sound interesting? Keep reading for more info, and you are welcome to send your application!

Who is your future team?
You will work in the Industrial Automation (IA) team, a team of 6 dedicated engineers who develop and support production systems for Axis camera products. The production systems are used in high volume production at our factories around the world, and every year millions of products are produced and tested in our systems.

The IA-team is part of a larger division of about 100+ engineers working with Production Engineering and Technology (PET), and together with our colleagues within SW, Imaging, electronics and mechanical engineering we develop and support production systems globally.

The work in the IA-team is carried out in tight collaboration with the mechanical, electrical and other software teams. Since our systems impact different parts of Axis it also includes a lot of collaboration with other departments and projects at Axis. Knowledge sharing, collaboration and a creative work environment are key elements, as well as keeping the tight and positive team spirit that this team is well-known for.

What you'll do here as Automation Engineer
In your role as an Automation Engineer, you will be developing new production systems as well as supporting existing ones. A production system is used in Axis factories to produce our products, typically security cameras. Some production systems are used to align image sensors with optics while others test the assembled units with respect to, for example, optical focus. Common for many production systems is that they require micrometer precision automation for high volumes and high variation of products, which can be very challenging!

You will be part of the complete software lifecycle for systems and machines, idea creation and design, and investigation of new technologies, to building of machine software, release of new hardware and software to factories around the world to the maintenance of existing machines. For this work there are possibilities to visit manufacturing sites around the world.

In your job you will have daily interaction with colleagues from R&D as well as within PET, as teamwork is our key to success! You will have many opportunities to influence our department's direction as well as your own personal development. You will also be involved in influencing technical choices, our ways of working and contributing to new ideas and functionality.

Who are we looking for/Who are you?
We think you are a hands-on person who is curious, responsible, organized and methodical. You enjoy problem solving, and you love the interaction between software and hardware. Ability to communicate is important as the role requires collaboration with other teams and departments.

We believe that you have a strong personal drive and get inspired by working in and creating an environment of openness, creativity, trust, commitment, playfulness, and encouragement.

It is important that you have:

* A university/college degree, preferably in engineering physics/mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/computer science or equivalent.
* At least 3 years of practical experience of creating, developing and maintaining PLC implementations (including using Structured Text).
* At least 3 years of experience from C# programming in a windows environment and you are comfortable with object-oriented software development methods.
* Good communication skills in English and Swedish, both in speech and writing

We'd love to hear that you have:

* Experience from Beckhoff TwinCAT/Codesys
* Experience from Git, Gerrit, Jira and agile development
* Experience from ISO13849 - Safety of machinery
* Knowledge about OPC-UA
* Interest in SW architecture with respect to PLC implementations

The position is full time. Travelling is not required, but there may be opportunities to visit our factories around the world!

What Axis has to offer!
With us you will work in a dynamic company with professional and motivated employees. We are in an expansionary phase, which means new challenges and great opportunities to develop on a personal and professional level.
