Consumer Services at Volvo Group Connected Solutions is responsible for the end user services, from idea to development and operation. Together with our partners and customers we create value through fantastic user experience and business enhancing services and products. Within Consumer Services we have the extraordinary great Tracking & Optimization team which manages the development and maintenance of our Positioning, Zone Management and Range Prediction products – and your experience is needed.

We are now looking for a Solution Architect for the Optimization Services product team within Tracking & Optimization.

The Position

The main responsibility of the role as Solution Architect is to bridge business challenges and technical solutions within the product area for Optimization Services in close collaboration with the Tracking & Optimization core team and the development teams. Identifying the best solutions for business challenges will be at the core of everything you do, which entails analysis, design creation and enhancing existing services for the future. You will drive the design of micro services for the Optimization Services products, learn our development platform and collaborate with many teams.

Features of the role are:

• Through a holistic solution view, design services optimized both for business need, costs and maintainability

• Describe structures, characteristics, and other aspects of the design for development teams, both frontend and backend

• Drive reviews of architecture concepts and solutions

• Perform presentation of solutions to stakeholders

Your Profile

Your personality is your major reason for success, but we think you also have:

• Several years of experience as Architect in an international environment

• Ability to inspire and motivate stakeholders, individuals and teams

• Great communication and presentation skills

• Ability to build relationships and bridge Business and Tech

• A global and agile mindset with strong customer focus

• Fluent in English - both written and spoken

• Valid work-permit for Sweden, if not EU-citizen

We believe that you will learn our technical platform on the job, but in short it is mainly an event driven micro service architecture running in AWS cloud. Java is the main programming language, and we work with continuous delivery with infrastructure as code. Backend services are running on SpringBoot and typically designed around REST, JMS and ProtoBuf. We work in a variant of SAFe with agile teams and PI plannings.
