Senior Backend Engineer

The world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the band in a consultant assignment. The client has transformed music listening forever when launched in 2008.

Period: 2023-09-11 to 2024-02-29, with a possibility of extension.

This is a temporary position, working remotely or in office with a team mostly based around Stockholm. Candidates working in the Europe Time Zone are welcome to apply.

About the role
The client is looking for a senior backend engineer with experience working in a larger company and reasoning around complex systems. They are comfortable mapping features into managed services.

With excellent collaboration skills, you can work well with a team, in a hands-on way, and put the success of the team first. Daily communication is key, with a humble and positive attitude, open to new ideas and suggestions, and not afraid to bring their experience and expertise into every decision we make together.

What you'll do
You will together with the other engineers in the team, implement new and improve existing service integrations for the costumers Customer Support and Account Management. You will work together with many other parts of the customers RnD to understand APIs. There will be both a backend and a frontend part of most tasks, which the team will tackle together. You care about improving the overall architecture and health of the systems and drive things to completion.

As a senior engineer we see you playing a big part in the team in technical decisions and improvements and initiating and driving work and ways of working together with the team. We also see you sharing your knowledge and experience with less senior engineers.

Requirements for the role
- You are autonomous and have a drive to deliver.
- Great collaboration skills

- Experience with Java backends and integrations is a must, and some knowledge of the web stack.
