Arjo is looking for a manager of mechanical engineering and UX & product design to be a driving force in their R&D division at Arjo headquarters in Malmö!

As the Manager of Mechanical Engineering and UX & product design, you will lead a team of skilled mechanical engineers and UX & product designers as line manager to execute new product pipelines within the hygiene and medical beds categories. Your deep technical expertise within mechanical engineering and product development methodology will shape the direction of our projects, while your passion for people development and leadership will inspire your team to achieve new heights.

Main tasks & key responsibilities

You will have people responsibility and provide mentoring and guidance to your team to promote individual development, a strong team and world class product designs. You will stay abreast of new technologies and methods and will work with global counterparts to selectively implement new technologies in order to improve our products and development capabilities.

Your role will extend beyond technical expertise; your positive energy and drive will foster a collaborative environment that empowers creativity and innovation.

As a member of the Malmö R&D management team and Global R&D extended leadership team, you'll play a significant part in influencing our strategic direction. Your insights will be pivotal to Arjo's ongoing journey of growth and innovation.

Location: Malmö

Reporting to: Director of Hygiene and Medical Beds

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 10 years of hands on product design experience
• Skilled in product development methodology and bringing designs from idea to production
• Proficiency in using engineering softwares and tools such as CAD and FEA
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to mechanical engineering and design
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, coaching and performance development
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written

The ideal candidate

You need to have leadership qualities such as motivational skills, decision making abilities and strategic thinking. Strong technical expertise and interest in mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processes is of high importance as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of finding innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster collaboration and innovation.
