Embedded Software Developer with Imaging focus - Intercoms

The Intercom team at New Business R&D in Lund is looking for a new colleague. Is it you?

Who is your future team?
We are a friendly and highly motivated group of engineers that love to solve tricky problems together, to continuously learn new things and to innovate. We develop and maintain the firmware of the Intercom products in the Axis portfolio, which also includes ensuring a market leading camera solution. We prefer working together in smaller teams that include test engineers and sometimes web developers to make sure we can take full responsibility in everything we deliver.

What you'll do here as Embedded Software Developer with Imaging focus?
Within your team you can work on lots of different things, but your main focus will be on Imaging. In other words, implementing and adapting software for the camera in our Intercoms, developing production tuning and testing functionality as well as analyzing test data to optimize performance. In addition, you would sometimes also have the time and possibility to do embedded development in other areas of our products (SIP, audio, RFID, etc.) to broaden your horizon. We develop new products to complement the portfolio, but we also take care of our released products with maintenance and new features.

Everyone in the team works on their continuous learning and innovation skills. This is important to us, and time is set aside for it. Maybe you will be the one coming up with a new cool feature to our intercoms or a new area to explore?

Who are you?
We believe you are a team player who challenges the way we work to make sure we learn and improve. It will make us very happy if you have some experience in imaging, hopefully previous work experience or maybe a big personal interest in photography. While our Linux based platform supports other languages, such as C++, Rust and Go, most of our code is written in C, so we believe that this is your preferred language. We also believe you are curious by nature. You love to solve problems together with your team and see how you contribute to improve our products. At Axis, we put a lot of trust in the engineers, and you will be able to influence the outcome of a product greatly.

We'd love to hear that you have:

* Working knowledge of C and Embedded Linux.
* Experience with optical components such as lenses and image sensors.
* Experience with debug tools such as GDB.
* Experience in and a willingness to work with agile development.

It would not hurt if you also had:

* Knowledge of Linux kernel development and experience in writing kernel modules.
* Experience in the Yocto/Openembedded build system.
* Experience in developing products with either SIP or RFID technologies.
