About this opportunity

In parallel with the initial roll out of 5G networks around the world, the interest about hardware/software disaggregation and virtualization of Radio Access Networks (RAN) and the use of open, standardized, RAN interfaces is growing. PDU (Product Development Unit)Cloud RAN owns the acceleration and creation of a cloud-native Radio Access Network (RAN) product offering. To set ourselves up for greatness we count on our technical staff to truly embody our business area’s three C’s, Customer Focus, Collaboration, and Can-do, to drive the realization of the Ericsson Cloud RAN portfolio.

To make us stronger, we are looking for Developers for our Networking team. We are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Networking solutions. You will work in a section with motivated colleagues and with a proven experience on networking, switching and routing mechanisms and protocols, deep knowledge on networking development, cloud, and containers networking experts as well send-to-end solution architects. This is both a hands-on role and a chance to work more strategically together with program managers, Architects, Technical Coordinators and Software developers. What you will do:

• Contribute to networking architecture and studies of the Cloud RAN components
• Assist on the troubleshooting of networking elements in a Cloud environment
• Design & build solution Architecture for the Cloud Infra Networking
• Develop & build Cloud RAN networking microservices

To be successful in the role you should have

• At least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience of developing low-level and low-latency networking applications
• Experience in Linux networking, container technologies and familiarity with the kernel
• Have practical experience of cloud services and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in Networking troubleshooting
• Knowledge of L2 and L3 switching and routing protocols
• Experience in developing applications using C, C++, Golang
• Experience in writing Python and Bash scripts for automation
• Knowledge of Kubernetes networking model
• Highly adaptable team player who can ramp up quickly on new technologies and accomplish goals in a fast-paced agile environment
