The Engineering Graduate program


The Engineering Graduate Program at Volvo Group Trucks Technology is a global 12-month program where you are offered the perfect mix of on-the-job learning and diverse training modules. You will get the chance to use your technical and creative engineering skills while gaining valuable experience working with real products on real business challenges. Besides your manager, who will guide and support you in your daily job, you will have a supportive network of peer graduates, colleagues across the globe and senior leaders to help you excel. Job description


In the role as Embedded Function Developer, you will be a part of our team that contribute by developing software functionality for different parts of the electromobility system that are crucial for the complete delivery and customer experience. A prime example is the charging system, where software functions ensure seamless coordination among multiple components. In your daily tasks, you will delve into a broad technical landscape where knowledge of automotive, embedded systems, batteries, electric machines, charging system, testing and verification are great assets. You will be working with tools such as Target Link, Simulink, C-code, and Python.


While most of our work takes place in an office environment, we frequently test our software functions in real vehicles, ensuring practical excellence.

Required knowledge/experience


In order to qualify for the Engineering Graduate program you must have completed a M.Sc. in Computer Engineering, M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Physics prior to the start of the program but not more than 18 months ago. You should not have more than two years full-time working experience prior to starting. You also need to be fluent in English, both written and verbal.


It is meritorious if you have knowledge in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, test, and verification methods within software unit testing, as well as familiarity with system design and requirement tools. Also, experience working with Target link, Simulink, C-code, and Python is a merit.
