You will be part of Marine and Ports in Västerås. ABB's business for ports assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost-efficient way. Ports is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects, we deliver electric and automation systems for cranes to the major container ports in the world.

As a Senior Software Developer and Product owner, you'll be an essential member of our skilled R&D teams, actively involved in the entire product development life cycle, from idea to delivery. Your focus will be on designing and implementing software solutions for our crane automation.

Your responsibilities

• You will lead one of our software products and work in close collaboration with our stake holders.
• Be a part of a software development team.
• Participating in requirement gathering process, implementation and testing.
• Living ABB's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
• You will work at our office in Västerås.

Your background

• You have a bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of software development in languages like Java and C++.
• Technologies that you need to be familiar with: Java, Linux, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Containers, Kubernetes.
• Experience from crane automation and technical lead are meritorious.
• As a person, you are driven with an outward personality with strong customer focus and team cooperation.
• You are highly self-driven, have a positive attitude to new ideas.
• You have a desire to learn new things and deepen your knowledge.
• Since you will work in a global company, you need to master English in both speech and writing, Swedish language skills are meriting.
