Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Front-End Developer to join our team. You will be at the forefront of building and maintaining our internal developer portal, Backstage, and creating plugins to enhance its functionality. The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Knex, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies. If you have a passion for developing exceptional user experiences and possess expertise in DevOps and platform engineering, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain Backstage, our internal developer portal.
• Create custom plugins to extend Backstage's capabilities, enhancing developer productivity and experience.
• Utilize React, TypeScript, and other web technologies to build responsive and user-friendly web interfaces.
• Work with Git and GitHub to manage version control and code collaboration.
• Demonstrate an architectural mindset and platform engineering skills to contribute to the portal's overall scalability and efficiency.
• Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, and GitOps to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance.
• Experience in creating and utilizing re-usable UI components, using Storybook for component development.
• Proficiency in Material UI for creating sleek and consistent user interfaces.

Requirements

• Proven experience in front-end development, with expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Knex for database operations.
• Proficiency in Git and GitHub for version control.
• Experience in creating and maintaining web applications and plugins.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new tools quickly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps practices to streamline the development and deployment pipeline.
• Prior exposure to platform engineering and architectural design.
• Experience in developing re-usable UI components and utilizing Storybook.
• Familiarity with Material UI for creating cohesive and visually appealing user
• interfaces.
