Experienced 1D/CFD flow and system simulation engineer

We are Volvo Powertrain Engineering in Goteborg and we develop engines for the Volvo Group.

Volvo group's fossil free ambition motivates us all to work together to further improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of our combustion engines, while developing alternative or non-carbon fuels solutions.

Our team "System Analysis and Simulation" is looking for a new colleague to help us achieve this mission.

Position Description

As an R&D Engineer in the area of Engine simulations, you will be involved in the design and evaluation of new concepts and technologies, with focus on the engine cooling system, using mainly 1D simulations tools such as GT-Power and CFD tools such as Star-CCM+. You will run simulations and review the results, recommend improvements and design solutions, perform concept studies and present your conclusions with impact to our internal customers. You will work in an inclusive team environment in a collaborative way to create the best system solution with your engineering colleagues.

Your personality is your major reason for success, but we think you also have:

• Master of Science in engineering
• Education/training in internal combustion engines is a plus
• 5 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Experience with GT-Power/Star-CCM+ or similar programs is an advantage
• Programming experience at a high level in Matlab, Python or similar.
