Starting with innovative heat pumps, it will evolve into a comprehensive, intelligent clean energy-tech system and include dynamic electrical tariffs, cutting-edge home solar systems, and advanced battery storage solutions.

Founded in 2022 with already 400 employees and growing, Aira aims to drive the clean energy revolution. We are headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and our factory in Poland brings these innovations to life, with operating markets in the UK, Italy, and Germany.

About the role

As a Data Engineer, you will be at the core of our data-driven culture, playing a pivotal role in constructing, maintaining, and optimizing the data infrastructure. And as a key member of the data team, your responsibilities will include designing and developing shared data infrastructure components from scratch, all while adhering to best practices such as CI/CD and IaC.

You will be a crucial contributor in shaping the foundation of our data department, introducing innovative solutions to enhance product features, and advancing our data architecture.

What you will be doing

- Contribute to building purpose-built data ecosystem, from early phases to global scale, including cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, schema management, data transformation, and CI/CD and IaC processes.

- Develop comprehensive end-to-end data pipelines and modules for the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data assets.

- Collaborate closely with software product development teams, empowering them to autonomously handle data within our ecosystem.

- Introduce practices and tools aimed at enhancing data reliability and performance.

- Facilitate data- and AI-driven software, generating insights and enabling well-informed decisions through the agile and modern provisioning of data assets.

- Provide vital data resources for refining future business strategies.

- Deliver enriched data and analytics capabilities, fostering discussions and inspiring informed decisions.

What we would like you to have:

We believe you are a strong data generalist, and you have a solid background in some (but not all!) of the following principles and tools:

- Manage orchestration and data movement, employing tools such as Dagster, Airbyte, Python, or similar technologies.

- Oversee infrastructure and code management for data and analytics using tools like Terraform, GitHub actions, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Ensure secure access to both infrastructure and data resources through Terraform and cloud engineering practices.

- Implement cloud architecture and services associated with data, such as those provided by GCP and AWS.

- Manage streaming tools like Kafka, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Pub/Sub, or equivalent technologies.

- Handle data transformation and loading, utilizing DBT, SQL, Python, or similar tools.

- Employ data modeling and analytics theories and execution, encompassing data mesh concepts, "big table" approaches, Kimball marts, and analytic data sets.
