Your future team
The AXIS OS System is responsible for both developing of new functionality and maintaining current functionality in our user-space Linux platform. The AXIS OS System consists of three smaller teams: "AXIS OS Architects" team, "Linux framework and Events" team and "Runtime" team. As a Software Engineer in our teams, you will be creating, maintaining functionalities and make architectural changes to the platform. You will be involved in all phases of development - from innovation/first ideas and all the way through design, test and implementation until final release on the market. We use C and RUST as programming languages. Examples on areas to work in are Redis, SystemD, inter processor communication, logging, runtime, configuration APIs and event systems. The current focus is on analytics infrastructure and a new modern API framework. The teams work closely with other parts of the R&D organization, both other teams working with firmware development and product development as well as teams working with solutions, applications and services.

Who are you?
You will love this position if you are ambitious, willing to learn and interested in solving things together with others - teamwork and collaboration are essential to your success at Axis. As a person we believe that you are a developer who has a "can do" attitude, enjoys working with a variety of tasks in complex environments. You also appreciate solving technical challenges. You are prepared to adapt and learn new technologies and tools to fit the need to what we develop.

In addition to the above we think you also have:

* A master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
* Experience with embedded programming
* Knowledge of programming language C
* Knowledge of operating systems concepts
* Ability to write and speak English fluently

It's a bonus if you have:

* Experience with working with open source
* Experience with connected software platforms
* Knowledge of programming language Rust or C++
* Love agile development
