Senior Backend Engineer - Soundtrack

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with experience in scaling the web, building APIs and all the details that go into building a great user and developer experience.

Job summary:

In this role you would join our product development team, Collaboration & Live, as part of the Soundtrack domain. Our team focuses on delighting our users through the development of product features like organizing their own playlists, improving playback of our tracks, and expanding our footprint to other products. The team researches, builds, and maintains the full stack implementation of these features which means you'd be a vital part of building products that impact all of our users in a scalable and stable way.

Most of your days will be free for you to focus on hands-on engineering work. We try to keep our team processes light, grouping our team meetings together to help defragment your calendar and leaving you free to build. We are big believers in teamwork, pair/mob programming and sharing knowledge inside and outside the team.

Our stack - Python (Django & FastAPI), GCP, Kubernetes, Typescript, React

What you'll bring:

We're looking for someone with great communication skills and the ability to balance their experience with an open mind and humbleness to consider different approaches to solving a problem. We'd also like to see:

- Extensive experience in building RESTful APIs and distributed systems

- Experience building scalable, reliable and easy-to-maintain software in an iterative fashion

- Hands-on experience transitioning from a monolith to microservices

It would also be music to our ears if you have experience with:

- Python

- Typescript
