Volvo Cars - Driving change together

Volvo Cars’ continued success is the result of a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive working environment. Today, we are one of the most well-known and respected car brands, with over 40,000 employees across the globe. At Volvo Cars, your career is designed around your skills and aspirations so you can reach your full potential.

For the right person, an inspiring, and creative workplace awaits. Did you know that every Volvo Cars employee worldwide has the right to our Family Bond, our new all-gender, paid parental leave policy? You’ll also enjoy a culture and benefits package that’s made us one of the world’s most awarded and progressive employers.

By 2025, we aim to sell 1.2 million cars annually, 50% of which will be electric vehicles and sold directly to customers through digital channels. Join us on the journey of a lifetime as we create the driving and electrification technologies of tomorrow.

What you’ll do
In the Test Objects & Test Environment (TOTE), a product cluster at Engineering Digital, we support Research and Development with IT capabilities needed in testing throughout the whole car development process. A major part of our delivery is the Test Object Content Control (TOCC), an umbrella where early building phases are in the spotlight. The agile TOCC products support the entire lifecycle of a test object, from creation and specification throughout the usage phase.
We are merely in the beginning of a very exciting journey for these products supporting over 1500 users at R&D, Manufacturing Engineering and the production plants globally. TOCC is being developed to increase efficiency by supporting increased Test Object utilization, Content Control and to modernize our old system landscape.
Today the team includes seven people situated in Gothenburg and three offshore. We believe in the power of WE and co-creation and do most of our work in our team place in Torslanda (Gothenburg), but there is also a possibility to balance on-site work with work from home.
It is not a coincidence that we say Volvo For Life. We make sure we have a welcoming and inclusive team culture mixed with personal development and many of us stay in the company for a long time either taking on a larger responsibility in a product or expanding into the ART or elsewhere in the company.
In this team you will be part of an agile environment where you as a developer are empowered to bring requirements all the way from the reviewing stage to production ready functionality, while also working with code reviews and setting up plans for how to architect our code to have great quality and allow for quick changes.
What you’ll bring
We believe that you are fully fluid in both backend and frontend development and enjoy solving complex technical problems. You know how to build scalable and well performing solutions. You have experience working with relational/non-relational databases, UX/UI and with CI/CD pipelines. You also know your way around Kubernetes, Typescript, AWS Cloud Services and Angular. You understand what it means to work with agile team principles.
We are looking for a more senior developer with experience from hands-on architectural directions, and we believe that you can guide your peers in parallel with creating your own code. You will further stick out in the selection process if you are used to DevOps scenarios in a business-critical consumer environment. It is also beneficial if you have some experience with direct client management, like taking requirements, and have a constant focus on user needs and the user journey.
You are a curious and open-minded person who are continuously seeking to develop your skillsets. You are willing to develop a T-shaped profile by expanding your knowledge into at least one other specialization. You are also self-motivated and willing to network with stakeholders for technical elicitation.
Looking forward to seeing you! Let´s create the future together now!
