About this opportunity

Engineering Unit Cloud RAN Radio Application Services (RAS) is a new organization that will ensure Ericsson’s readiness in cloudification of Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions and complement our embedded RAN portfolio in order to serve our customers when deploying 5G. Engineering Unit Cloud RAN is building a full stack virtualization of the 5G NR CU (Central Unit) and Distributed Unit based on COTS HW and cloud-native technologies.

We in vDU Radio Management – part of Engineering Unit Cloud RAN RAS - are responsible for the Control and Management of the interfaces between the Cloud RAN solution and external equipment, such as Radio Units and/or any product from the embedded RAN portfolio. We have a clear customer focus with commercial deliveries happening in 2023. In this unit we adopt a start-up mentality to deliver a product with great customer experience and increased organizational efficiency making creative and innovative employees an excellent fit. You will be responsible E2E software development of microservices in a Cloud based Radio Access Network, all the way from requirement setting, systemization, implementation, testing to customer release and maintenance. This role will be based in Stockholm, reporting to Section Manager PDU Cloud.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks based on MJE/JCAT/TestNG/Robot, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand product requirements, identify test scenarios, and design and implement automated tests
• Implement cloud native testing strategies, using containerization technologies and orchestration frameworks
• Continuously enhance and optimize test automation processes, frameworks, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and Spinnaker, enabling faster feedback and efficient release cycles
• Fix and debug test failures, working closely with development teams to identify root causes and provide timely resolutions
• Monitor and analyze test results, generating comprehensive reports and metrics to drive continuous improvement efforts

You will bring

• Proven experience as a Test Automation Developer or similar role, with a focus on cloud native testing
• Strong proficiency in Java & Python programming and experience with MJE/JCAT/TestNG/Robot framework
• Solid understanding of cloud native concepts, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, WRCP, OpenShift)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD flow concepts, specifically Jenkins and Spinnaker
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Bachelor’s or master’s level degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, time management, and multitasking skills
