Data Infrastructure Engineer

Dema.ai is a well-funded SaaS startup based in Stockholm with 20+ employees with a mission to help thousands of e-commerce businesses improve their profitability.

What we are looking for

As our Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, scaling and maintenance of services at the core of Dema, such as analytical data storages, real time ingestion services, data lakes, orchestration tools. You will work closely with Streaming-and Data Engineers as well as Developers as a part of a small, flexible team. In this role you have a direct impact on the process of maturation of the platform including infrastructure architecture decisions.

About the platform

Our platform is based on the industry-leading technologies such as Clickhouse Database, Apache Kafka, Flink, AWS (Kubernetes), Prometheus, Prefect and Dema solution itself for collecting data from ecommerces.

We are currently working on upgrading the platform to meet new requirements of rapidly growing business, such as:

• Increase the confidence in analytical data.
• Design and implement systems and processes to enhance the reliability and resilience of the infrastructure.
• Monitor and control failures proactively.
• Support for a fast-growing amount of data.

We are looking for someone with experience in:

• Deploying and supporting data-intensive services (minimun 5+ years)
• Clickhouse and/or Kafka (strong plus).
• Monitoring, logging, and analyzing service health.
• Troubleshooting common bottlenecks of data intensive applications.
• Managing complex infrastructure (such as Kubernetes clusters, VPC networking and security policies) using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Creating application deployments of Kubernetes-based services using tools like, Helm, etc
• AWS cloud computing (EC2, RDS, EKS, EMR, Route53, VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables).
• Solution cost optimization and capacity planning.

You are right for this role if you:

• Have basic knowledge of one or more high-level programming languages (one of), such as Python, Go, Java
• Have a good understanding of Data Privacy and Security (GDPR, CCPA).
• Committed to creating persistence of data.
• Humble, open and fun.

Hard requirements for this position:

To be qualified for this position, you must have the legal authorization to work in Sweden (work permit or residence card) or be a citizen of the European Union. We are currently unable to provide assistance with this process.
