Data & Machine Learning Team Leader

Who you are

This position is based in Malmö, Sweden

We are looking for someone who has a good knowledge of programming languages and

modern data platforms and systems.

It is important to have a good knowledge of the application of advanced analytics and data analytics in addressing and answering business questions as much as having a good knowledge of Machine Learning and other developments in the fast-moving data technology landscape.

Good knowledge of data models (e.g. hierarchical or relational) and common issues related to data

quality, and how to improve them is needed. You have basic knowledge of all steps related to data-driven digital product development, including data processing, analysis and knowledge extraction, and deployment at scale.

You have a good knowledge of stakeholder management and the IKEA corporate identity, understanding the importance of our core values and the vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.

You will lead a cross-functional team of data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, machine learning engineers and/or data stewards to provide value creation from data and analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

You will work collaboratively with Product Owners, Product UX Design Leaders and Engineering Managers to actively manage the digital product backlog and deliver the assigned digital products and services.

Your Responsibilities

In this role you will be:

• Responsible for the implementation and application of Data & Machine Learning solutions within the assigned domain.
• Actively push for improvement of data-driven insights and decision-making solutions, driving effectiveness and efficiency in Data & Machine Learning.
• Proactively contribute functional expertise and guidance to teams to ensure the right Data & Machine Learning solutions are implemented to meet the requirements, contributing hands-on if needed.
• Provide leadership that promotes best practices by continually benchmarking against industry standards and trends.
• Lead, coach and develop co-workers to secure people development, leadership, succession and a high-performing team.

For this position we see that you have:

• Master’s degree qualifications in business, computer science, econometrics, mathematics or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of progressive and diverse experience in data and analytics
• Minimum 5 years of experience of leading company transformation and change management
• Good, documented leadership and people development skills

Preferred: Experience in retail and/or eCommerce and/or digital product development team
