Senior Software Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to complement our forward-thinking team at the headquarters in Gothenburg. The position includes development and design of software for Scanjet's products.

- Pre-studies and evaluation of technology choice and design solutions.

- Design of software, both new development and existing products.

- Responsible for building and maintaining a lab setup in regard to function, safe work environment and good order.

- Products include embedded software in instruments and sensors in field environment, software in PC/server/back[1]end environment and PC/Web/App/GUI/front-end environment.

- Development will be done in geographically mixed team using agile methods and automated testing.

- Today’s software development is mainly done using C++ in present products.

- Documentation of software and functions for customers, users and external certifying bodies (SIL, Cyber security).

- Customer and internal support for products, including fault finding and bug fixing.

- Ensure re-use of platforms within Scanjet and utilize competencies and resources within Alfa Laval.

- Coordination with project leader, mechanical design, electrical engineering and test & certification within Scanjet.

- Selection and evaluation of supplementary software products and securing their functionality in Scanjet system.

- Setting up and maintaining a suitable IT environment. Includes programming tools, version handling and integration with PDM and ERP systems.

Qualifications:

- Several years’ experience of software development, preferably embedded systems, server/backend for PC and GUI/front-end for PC/Web/app.

- Good English knowledge is a must, Swedish/Norwegian is an advantage.

- Good knowledge of C++ is a must, and knowledge of C#, Java and Python is a benefit.

- Competency in Cyber security.

- Good experience of SCRUM and agile methods.

- Knowledge of HCD/Usability/UX Design.

- Driven and prepared to take a large personal responsibility to setup procedures and methods within an area where Scanjet has limited experience.

- Should Scanjet organization for Software grow in the future, it is desirable if the person has competency to coach and lead more junior software engineers.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for that software in Scanjet products is competitive, trouble free and meets requirements from customers and external certifying parties.

- Responsible for integration of software in physical products and other systems.

- Responsible for that Scanjet has a quality assured development processes and uses development tools according to best practice in the software industry.
