Role Summary

Do you want to be part of developing advanced functions that save lives? Would you like to be involved in developing, for example, advanced emergency braking, warning functions for pedestrians and cyclists, advanced cruise control, fatigue indicator, and sign recognition?

Our section, Main Systems, is responsible for Scania's most central control system with completely in-house developed functions and software. We work agile in cross-functional teams with co-located expertise with great influence on our working methods and content.

Your role

We are looking for a new team member to join the Driver Assistance Functions group who wants to be involved in developing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) functions. We develop features that save lives and help the driver to drive safely with high comfort and energy efficiency. With a fusion of information from maps and external sensors such as cameras and radars, we create functions that warn or act actively to manage hazards and protect vulnerable road users.

We are in the middle of an exciting part of the development of several new features and we hope you want to join us and take on the challenges we have ahead of us.

Your work tasks

In the role of Function Developer, you will have cross-functional contacts, with different parts of the company. You'll be able to be involved in everything from the first brush strokes of new features to making our existing functions even better. The work is done in close collaboration with your very talented colleagues in our group.

The tasks are varied and the group is responsible for the entire delivery, from understanding what the customer wants and how new legal requirements affect us, all the way to deliver functions to production and a satisfied end customer.

As part of a typical working day, you will develop functions and conduct tests in different test environments. We write requirements, systemize, implement with Matlab Simulink, and write test cases in Python.

Of course, we are out in our vehicles and test on the road and test track, collecting and analyzes measurement data to adjust the function. We are also responsible for ensuring that the functions pass certifications.

Your background

You probably have a Master degree or equivalent experience. You are a driven and communicative person who is interested in developing further in your role. We also see that you are responsible, have good collaboration skills, and have an interest in working with agile methods. You continuously actively participate in our quest to constantly become better and better. Fluent English and ambitions to learn Swedish is a requirement. Experience in system engineering, system development, function development, control systems, testing, or agile methods is highly commendable.
