About the position

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in differential privacy and data science. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied mathematics, particularly in the context of data privacy and security. This role offers the unique opportunity to continue cutting-edge research in differential privacy, with potential for practical application and advancement in strategic areas of mathematics and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and contribute to research projects focusing on differential privacy.

· Apply mathematical expertise to a variety of applications including security, anomaly detection, and operations research.

· Mentor and guide a team of scientists and interns.

· Engage actively with the research community through publications and conference presentations.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and apply novel solutions to complex problems.

Requirements:

· PhD in Mathematics or a related field.

· Minimum of 10 years of professional research experience, preferably in a government lab, university, or similar environment.

· Proven track record as a Principal Investigator in multiple high-budget projects.

· Strong background in data analytics, machine learning, and mathematical problem-solving.

· Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability in Python, Git, LaTeX, and related tools.

· Experience in teaching and mentoring in academic settings.

· Citizen of the EU, the Nordics, USA, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Australia, or New Zealand.

Desired Qualifications:

· Experience in building and developing research teams including industry participants.

· Working knowledge of differential privacy.

· Experience in differentially private machine learning.

· Recognition for research achievements, such as awards or significant publications.

· Expertise in cybersecurity, particularly in autonomous systems and network security technologies.

· Ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities for research and development in emerging fields.
