Senior Devops Engineer

DevOps engineering is an essential part of any modern game studio: it's the glue that holds everything together. That's why we're looking for a senior DevOps engineer who is passionate about building and optimising high-performance, reliable, and scalable systems.

You would be joining a small team with the intention of growing, where you would be able to specialise over time. If you enjoy architecting cloud infrastructure, optimising build pipelines, automating tasks, implementing security tools and policies, and working closely with game development, this is the place for you.

What you’ll be doing

• Architecting Robust Infrastructure: Designing and maintaining a scalable, highly available infrastructure to support game development operations
• Automation Champion: Leading automation efforts to streamline processes and reduce manual, repetitive tasks across the development pipeline
• CI/CD Enhancement: Continuously optimising CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery and improve reliability
• Developer Tooling: Creating and maintaining scripts, tools, and utilities to enhance the development experience and productivity
• Security and Compliance: Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations in our infrastructure and development processes
• Performance Tuning: Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in the infrastructure to ensure a smooth gaming experience
• Scalability Planning: Assisting in capacity planning and scalability assessments to ensure our infrastructure can handle growing demands
• Monitoring and Alerting: Implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues

What We'd Like to See

• Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using Terraform to manage infrastructure resources
• Containerization Expertise: A solid understanding of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience working with AWS or an equivalent cloud provider, including cloud infrastructure provisioning and management
• Security Focus: A "zero-trust" approach to securing both cloud and on-premises resources, emphasising security best practices
• Problem-Solving and Innovation: Strong problem-solving skills and a forward-thinking mindset to continuously improve our DevOps processes
• Mentorship and Collaboration: A willingness to support and mentor, contributing to a collaborative work environment
• OS Agnostic: You will mostly work in Linux environments, but need to be comfortable with some work in a Windows environment
• Programming Languages: Proficient writing scripts in Bash and Python. Capability to read and understand one or more of the following programming languages: C++, JavaScript, Typescript and C#
• Additional Tool Familiarity: A bonus if you have experience with any of the following tools: Vault, Nomad, Consul or Packer, as they are relevant to our tech stack
