Summer job "Software developer in the autonomous vehicle team" - Kollmorgen

Kollmorgen, a Regal Rexnord brand, is a global company which develops motion control and
Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems and works with customers in many
different industries all over the world. Our target is to provide world
leading technology for the rapidly growing market of AGVs and Mobile
Robots.

We are offering summer job for 6-8 weeks that will start first or
second week in June. You will work together with one of our development
teams. For us it is important that your task is relevant for your
education, that you will learn new things, develop yourself and of
course we want you to have fun.

Brief description about the Vehicle team
You will be part of our Vehicle team which develops robot controlling software and its features for our customers. A collaborative environment, high on energy and humor, where you feel supported.

Task:

You will work on tasks related to our vehicle controller, the brain of the AGV, with a focus on automated testing and development of a web application in the controller. You will work alongside a team of experienced developers in a scrum workflow. 

Our automated testing framework is based on Pytest and Selenium and our goal is to test all functionality in the controller, e.g., driving behavior and order handling. You will work on adding new tests to the framework and improve existing ones.  

The web application is used by our customers to configure and diagnose their vehicles. It has a front-end built with Typescript and React and a backend built with Python, and your focus here will be on new feature development.

What educations are applicable?

- We are looking for bachelor students who are in their second year (BSc) & master students (MSc) who study year 3 or 4.

- You are studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.

Required skills:

- Fluent in English, both spoken and written

- Experience with Python

Meritorious skills:

- Experience with Typescript with React

- Test frameworks: Pytest, Selenium or Jest

- Backend Rest APIs

- Version control (git)

- Linux

Our office is located near Sisjön, during our lunches you will have
the opportunity to go for a run or a swim in the summer. We have
flexible working hours, and we also have a gym that is free to use for
all employees and on Mondays and Thursdays we have a common gym-workout.

Every student who has been up late to study for an exam know how
important coffee is ☕, we offer you good fair-trade coffee with fresh
milk! If you don´t like coffee, we have tea and always fresh fruit if
you get hungry.
