Customer Experience at Cloud RAN, part of Business Unit Networks, works closely with our customers to drive the uptake and delivery of cloud native RAN Solutions.

Our mission at EU CR CX Solutions and Release is to:

Increase the reach of Cloud RAN by ensuring flexible business solutions that embrace the Cloud ecosystem and are profitable for Ericsson.

We are a senior team who put the e2e customer experience in focus for EU Cloud RAN. We develop solutions that are service-ready, including key metrics for dimensioning, guidelines for integrating selected cloud infra and HW, and blueprints for supported configurations (DRAN, CRAN, enterprise). We provide customers with the documentation to deploy and manage our solutions, and we drive and validate quality targets to ensure the high-quality release of Cloud RAN solutions.

We forge the path towards continuous release and deployment, ensuring Cloud RAN embraces Cloud Native standard processes.

We are now looking for a Test Automation Developer to join our growing team. If you are passionate about designing robust and scalable solutions and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

You will report to the Manager, Solution Validation.

What you will do

• Develop and support automated test frameworks based on Ericsson internal tools Automated Acceptance Test (AAT)/MJE/JCAT/TGF/TestNG/Robot, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Convert Solution requirements into test scenarios, and design/write and implement automated tests in a Cloud Native environment.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and Spinnaker, enabling faster feedback and efficient release cycles.
• Solve and debug test failures, working closely with development teams to identify root causes and provide timely resolutions.
• Sharpen your development skills with the latest technologies, with access to vast resources, and an environment that nurtures T-shaped skills without limits.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team proficient in CNF, 5G, and RAN technologies.
• Document procedures and share knowledge with team members.

Area 1 – Cloud computing and Distributed/Cloud scale Developer skills (with a zeal to learn RAN)

• Good understanding of the technology and solutions concepts related to a modern ecosystem in the area of cloud computing (cloud architecture, micro services, automation) and related practices (DevOps, CI/CD).
• Knowledge in cloud landscape with great understanding of concepts like IAAS, PAAS, CAAS, virtualized applications, containerized applications, edge computing infrastructure.
• Hands-on Knowledge of at least one commercial grade K8S infrastructure (CNIS, Red hat OpenShift, any of top three HCP CAAS environment, …and similar stacks).
• Familiar with wide range of applications (PAAS infrastructure) required by software to run and deploy in a K8S cluster (database, code tracing, logging, monitoring etc.).

Area 2- RAN and Telecom experience (with a zeal to learn Cloud computing and build cloud scale architectures/applications/solutions)

• Knowledge of Radio Access Network, especially 5G NR and LTE 3GPP standards.
• Understanding of key 5G features (e.g., Carrier Aggregation, ESS) and their mapping on the UE, eNB (NSA), gNB and the core network.
• Competence in troubleshooting/integration RAN/Radio, Core networks and ENM
• High-level knowledge about test equipment used within 4G/5G (TM500, UCTool, CSIM, CCN, Butler-matrix, etc.).
• Hands-on knowledge of UEs and simulators, lab tools and lab equipment, i.e., you must have worked with lab equipment and confident in solving problems in the test setups in collaboration with other team members.
• Nice to have internal tooling competences: AAT, MJE, TGF, JCAT, FSuE.

Additional skills (common to both areas above)

• Bachelor's or master's degree preferably in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software testing and test automation.
• Good Programming skills in Java and experience with Test Automation and CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker)
• Experience with scripting (Ansible, Python, Shell), test automation tools, and development.
• Experienced in Cloud-Native Development Pipeline principles and tools (CI/CD (DevOps), Jenkins, Gerrit).
• Understanding of cloud native concepts, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, WRCP, OpenShift).
• Basic networking related understanding (DNS, IPV4/V6, NAT).
• Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Clarity and precision in verbal and written communication in English.
• A great collaborator and Can-do attitude.
• Agile approach and ability to work in an agile development team.
